ACCESS is proud to offer low-cost breast and cervical screenings through the Stand Against Cancer program, a breast and cervical cancer early detection initiative for low-income, uninsured women in Illinois.
Stand Against Cancer Program
The Stand Against Cancer (STAND) program was created to ensure that all women, regardless of their health circumstances or ability to pay, can have access to the early screening services they need to protect them against breast and cervical cancer.
- Free community-based education on breast and cervical cancer at local churches and community agencies.
- Low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings including clinical breast exams and pap smears at local community health centers.
- Referral for a free mammogram at local hospitals.
- Low-cost diagnostic testing and procedures as needed.
- Access to the Illinois Treatment Act to cover the cost of cancer treatment.
Any woman, who is an Illinois resident, is uninsured and/or living below 200% of the federal poverty level can qualify for the program. If you are diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer through the program and meet Medicaid requirements you can be enrolled in the Illinois Treatment Act which will provide Medicaid coverage to cover the costs of your cancer treatment.
Breast and Cervical cancer screenings are available at all Access Community Health Network centers. Visit our health center locator to find the one nearest you.
